How the Lever integration works
Bidirectional, webhook-driven sync — no spreadsheets, no copy-paste.
1. Connect with a Lever API key
Create an API key in Lever Settings → Integrations & API with read/write access to opportunities, postings, stages, notes, and files. Paste it into TrueHire.
2. Map Lever stages to TrueHire tests
Sync postings to pull every published Lever job and its pipeline stages, then assign the TrueHire test that should fire when a candidate enters each one.
3. Lever webhook fires on stage change
TrueHire verifies the Lever HMAC signature, finds the matching stage mapping, creates the candidate, and emails the invite. Notes on the opportunity record everything.
4. Score and report flow back to the opportunity
After the candidate submits, TrueHire posts a Lever note with the score, attaches the PDF report as a file, and — when auto-advance is on — calls the Lever stage transition API to move the candidate.

Auto-trigger assessments from a stage change
When a candidate enters a configured Lever stage — say "Coding Challenge" — TrueHire creates an assignment and emails the invite link automatically. No copy-paste, no manual handoff.
Push results back to the candidate record
After the candidate submits, TrueHire posts a summary note on the Lever candidate record, attaches the full PDF report, and (optionally) advances them to a pass or fail stage based on a score threshold you set.

In Lever, open Settings → Integrations and API → API credentials and create an API key with read/write scopes for opportunities, postings, stages, notes, and uploads.

In TrueHire, open Settings → Integrations, choose Lever, and paste the API key.

Click Test to verify the credentials and Sync Jobs to pull postings + stage definitions.

Add stage mappings — pick the Lever posting, the trigger stage, the TrueHire test, the pass threshold, and pass/fail target stages.

Copy the webhook URL from TrueHire and add it in Lever Webhooks for the "Candidate Stage Change" event.

Drag a candidate into your trigger stage to test the round-trip.
Authentication uses Lever API keys (HTTP Basic). Webhooks are signed with HMAC-SHA256 over `{timestamp}.{body}`.

Does TrueHire support webhooks from Lever?

No. The candidate sees a normal TrueHire invite email branded with your organisation name. The link points to the same secure assessment portal they would have received from a manual invite.
Can I roll back auto-advance if a hiring manager disagrees with the score?

Yes. Auto-advance is an opt-in toggle per integration, and recruiters can move the candidate back manually in the ATS at any time. The TrueHire result stays attached either way.
